Graduation Day(s) 2024

May 23rd and 24th 2024 were memorable days for H-FARM International School, marked by the Graduation ceremonies of our DP2 students. These events represented not only the conclusion of the academic journey for our students, but also the beginning of new and exciting adventures.

The first ceremony occurred on May 23rd in the splendid setting of Villa Valmarana “Ai Nani” in Vicenza. Here, 12 students celebrated their academic achievements, surrounded by family, friends, teachers, and school staff. The day was characterised by profound speeches, moments of emotional reflection, and boundless enthusiasm. The Head of Schools, Alessandra Chiovati, along with David Coppard, DP coordinator in Vicenza, opened the ceremony with a discussion that highlighted the importance of the educational journey and the challenges overcome by the students. Mr. Coppard made an important statement:I’d like to thank you parents next, you have placed the future of your children in our hands and there is no greater responsibility that can be entrusted […]. I’d like to move on to the teachers [..]. I thought about how lucky I am to have such a dedicated, helpful and collaborative group, again, without whom none of this would have been possible […]. “Adversity introduces a person to themselves”. There is no doubt that by coming this far in their academic lives the students have had to overcome a lot of adversity but the good news is that from here on things will only get better!.

The following day, on May 24th, the H-FARM Campus hosted the second Graduation ceremony, with the participation of 69 students. The event was even larger and saw a strong turnout from the school community. The location, the elegantly decorated Big Hall of The Hill, provided the perfect setting for a day of celebrations, recognitions, and hearty handshakes. During the ceremony, the Head of Schools, Conan De Wilde, along with the DP coordinator of the Campus, Sara Casagrande, and several graduating students, took the stage to share their experiences and memories of their journey at H-FARM. De Wilde and Casagrande stated:“In the middle of difficulty, an opportunity lies. Don’t see difficulty as a problem, but as a challenge. Adversities create more learning and more memories; it’s something very much like a paradox”. They continued, emotionally, saying:Life is trouble, but difficulties and challenges make us human”.

The students who took the stage representing all DP2 graduates were: Giacomo, Rocco, Isabel, Galeta, and Cecilia. Giacomo broke the ice with a question:“How is all this possible? Once again, I don’t have an answer. Probably it’s thanks to the people, the moments, the achievements, the difficulties, or thanks to the combination of all these things put together”. Rocco, on the other hand, said:I want to thank all of you for giving me the best years of my life, full of moments of happiness and sadness, inside and outside the classrooms. I want to thank all the teachers for imparting their teaching and knowledge during the hours we spent together in class”. Isabel shared:My memories take me back to the last day of school and to the hushed silence of the exam room, where the clock was ticking relentlessly towards zero. One by one, my classmates and I concluded our essays and gently set our pens aside. We exchanged wordless glances, tears glistening in our eyes […]. This chapter of our lives is coming to an end, and now another will open. The timer will be reset, and we can commence our new journey full of endless possibilities”.

Both ceremonies highlighted the sense of community and pride in the achievements of our students, concluding with an elegant outdoor buffet. The teachers expressed their satisfaction in having accompanied their students on this journey, and the families warmly celebrated their children’s accomplishments.

The days of May 23rd and 24th will remain unforgettable for the DP2 students of H-FARM International School. These ceremonies were not just a rite of passage but also a celebration of the dedication, commitment, and passion that characterise our school community. We wish all our graduates a bright future and to soar high, just like their graduation hats, worn on this magical occasion, launched towards the sky.
