Procedures and requirements

Everything you need to know to join H-FARM International School

You may enrol in H-FARM International School at any time throughout the school year, subject to the availability of a place in the class and the student’s ability to meet admission criteria.

The standard enrolment period, following a priority window reserved for students already attending the school in order to confirm their place in the subsequent year’s class, is between the months of December and January in the year preceding the enrolment.

For the 2024/25 academic year, for example, registration is normally completed between December 2023 to January 2024.
After this standard registration period, an increase in the Registration Fee will be applied.

The enrolment process must be completed online and all relevant information and documentation uploaded to our enrolment platform.

PYP

Admission to the PYP sections of the school (Early Years Unit and Elementary) takes place throughout the school year or until classes reach maximum capacity.
Students may be admitted into the EYU and Elementary sections in any year of the PYP provided that:

  • All required documentation is submitted
  • A trial day has been successful
  • The school is able to meet the child’s specific needs.

To be admitted to H-FARM International School’s Honey Bees class (1st year of nursery school), a child must be:

  • Toilet trained
  • 3 years old by the 31st of December of the year of entry.

MYP e DP

All MYP & DP applicants will be assessed on four English Language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). The assessment is designed to determine whether the applicant will be able to access our curriculum and achieve their academic potential without their understanding and use of English language being a barrier.

Students applying for a place in MYP are expected to demonstrate the following level of English (according to the CEFR) to access mainstream courses:

  • MYP1 or MYP2 – minimum level B1
  • MYP3 – minimum level B2
  • MYP 4 or MYP5 – minimum level B2
  • DP1 – minimum level C1

Students applying for MYP4 or MYP5 will be additionally assessed on their Mathematics & Sciences skills.
All the MYP & DP applicants who sit the entrance exams are also interviewed by the Head of Programmes or Coordinators, along with a member of the Admissions Team. Sometimes the Head of Programmes will request the applicant to send a presentation video of themselves in lieu of an interview.
During the conversation, the student’s background and age-appropriate preparation/motivation are further assessed.

Pre-enrolment

Upon request, families can pre-enrol a student for upcoming school years.
The pre-enrolment requires payment of a deposit of €100 (for PYP) and €200 (for MYP and DP), which will then be deducted from the Registration Fee during the actual registration.
Please note that a pre-enrolment does not guarantee a place in the desired class.

Language Assessment

Students are admitted into all levels of the PYP (Early Years and Elementary sections) regardless of their level of English. Students who are new to English who apply for admission to the Elementary section (PYP1-PYP5) are required to participate in a fee-based English Language Support program during their first year at the school.

Prospective students for MYP1-2-3 must take an English entrance test, which allows the school to ascertain whether the student has a sufficient level of English to successfully take part in the MYP. If the student requires additional support in the transition to an educational environment that is conducted fully in English, Language Support can be activated.

The fee for Language Support is €2.500 for the entire academic year in PYP and MYP1-3. If the Support is necessary for a second school year, the fee is €2.000.
