Malpensa Lovers

We curated the communication campaign for the 20-year anniversary of the Malpensa Express.

 

Trains and stations have always been meeting places, where love stories, reunions and separations take place. This is the message at the heart of "Malpensa Lovers", the communication campaign we curated to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the rail link between the city of Milan and the Malpensa International Airport.

Trenord turned to us to study the service and market of the Malpensa Express. We analyzed the habits of the customer base and then created the communication campaign focused on train stations as places of departure and separation. This emotional relationship became the key to tell the relationship between the Malpensa Express and its passengers through a romantic dialogue.

During the "Bridge", the transfer of flights from Linate to Malpensa that took place from July 27 to October 26, 2019 more than 1,2 million passengers traveled on Malpensa Express with an increase of 46% compared to 2018. During this period, Trenord improved the train fleet that connects Malpensa Terminal 1 and 2 with the main stations in Milan, for a total of 146 daily trips. An expansion that increased the capacity from 39,000 seats a day to almost 58,000 a day (+ 47%).
