Veneto Legge 2025: A Day Dedicated to Reading

This year once again, H-FARM International School Vicenza enthusiastically took part in Veneto Legge, the regional Reading Marathon: an initiative that brings together schools, libraries, students, and families across the region in a great celebration of books.
The 2025 edition centered around the theme of snow, chosen not only for its natural beauty and symbolic meaning but also in anticipation of an event that all of Italy awaits with excitement: the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Snow, with its power to transform landscapes and inspire imagination, became the guiding thread of a day full of reading and sharing experiences.
A Morning of Choices and Discoveries
The day began with a technological surprise: on the interactive screens in PYP1–PYP5 classrooms appeared the covers of a selection of books related to the year’s theme. Each student was free to choose the one that intrigued them most.
From these choices, mixed reading groups were formed, bringing together children of different ages who had the opportunity to read together and share thoughts, emotions, and reflections. This approach broke down the traditional boundaries of classes, transforming the morning into a genuine community of readers, where differences enriched the dialogue.
Teachers observed with satisfaction how older students naturally took on the role of guiding the younger ones, while the younger readers contributed freshness and curiosity to the groups. It was a moment of collaborative learning, highlighting the joy of discussion and the value of listening to one another.
The Afternoon: Older Storytellers Meet Younger Learners
If the morning was about shared discovery, the afternoon opened a new chapter: PYP students visited the Early Years Unit (EYU), becoming storytellers for their younger schoolmates.
With enthusiasm and sensitivity, they read aloud the same books chosen in the morning, this time with the intention of giving EYU children a magical experience. It was more than just reading—it was an act of generosity and responsibility: the older students’ voices became carriers of emotions, dreams, and images that captivated their younger peers.
A Message Beyond Books
The day dedicated to Veneto Legge reminded us all that reading is never just an individual act: to read is to connect, share, and be transformed by the words of others.
Like snowflakes, every story is unique and unrepeatable, but when they come together, they create extraordinary landscapes. In the same way, the voices and thoughts of students of different ages formed a mosaic of experiences that will remain in the memory of our school community.
Our Vision of School
For us, participating in initiatives like this is far more than an annual appointment: it is the living expression of the educational vision that drives H-FARM International School Vicenza. We believe that school is not only the place where knowledge is acquired, but also where values such as curiosity, creativity, responsibility, and empathy are cultivated.
Events like Veneto Legge remind us that reading is one of the most powerful tools for shaping aware and sensitive citizens, capable of looking at the world with open eyes and attentive hearts.
With Veneto Legge 2025, our school celebrated not only books, but also the power of sharing, transforming a late September Friday into a day of growth, wonder, and community.
