A New Program for Student-Athletes: Now School and Sports Can Truly Go Hand in Hand

H-FARM International School has just launched a brand-new program designed for students who aim to grow both in the classroom and on the field. This tailored pathway supports student-athletes from Middle School all the way to the Diploma Programme.
The goal? To help students strike a real balance between athletic commitments and academic success, without having to sacrifice one for the other.
A Flexible Schedule for Those Who Also Have a Field to Reach
Starting in Middle School, student-athletes will benefit from a reduced weekly timetable, from 40 to 35 lessons, with the option to leave school at 3:30 PM. This creates valuable time for training, while still keeping academics on track.
For those in High School, there’s an even more flexible option: thanks to H-FARM’s accreditation with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), student-athletes can choose to complete the Diploma Programme over three years instead of two, ideal for those competing at a high level.
Making the Most of the School Day (and Beyond)
Each student-athlete will have a personalised timetable, developed in collaboration with the Head of Programme. Dedicated slots for study, preparation, and recovery will be built into the school day. These are made possible by removing one non-core subject from the student’s curriculum, ensuring academic performance remains strong.
Support that Fits Each Student
This program goes beyond scheduling. It includes a tailored support plan to foster ongoing communication between the school, family, and the student’s sports team. The type of support may vary, from basic teacher guidance to a full plan developed with the Learning Support Department. This additional service is optional and comes with an extra financial contribution, depending on the student’s individual needs.
Success Stories That Inspire
The effectiveness of this approach is reflected in the success stories of our student-athletes. For example, Ludovica managed to balance a demanding academic path while earning a full scholarship to study Civil and Naval Engineering at Old Dominion University in the United States — all while competing in Division 1 golf. Similarly, Giacomo Cappelletto secured a rowing scholarship at Boston University thanks to his sporting achievements, and Haddy Gomez, a member of the Brazilian national skeet shooting team, chose H-FARM to train with the best. These stories demonstrate how, through the flexibility and support provided by the school, our students can achieve outstanding athletic and academic results while effectively balancing their commitments.
Through this new initiative, H-FARM International School reaffirms its commitment to educating the whole person — not just academically, but also personally and athletically. By recognising and supporting the unique challenges faced by student-athletes, the school empowers them to pursue excellence in all areas of their lives. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in their future careers, students are equipped with the tools, guidance, and flexibility they need to grow with confidence and ambition.
This program is one more step toward building an educational environment that truly adapts to the needs and aspirations of every learner.
