At H-FARM International School, courage, curiosity and care shape the future

How better to start a new academic year? At H-FARM International School, we believe it is by inspiring students with real stories, examples of courage, curiosity, and care, rather than with numbers and statistics.
When the school gates reopened, the community was welcomed not with lists of expectations, but with three powerful stories that embody the values at the heart of our mission.
In India, 13-year-old Lalita refused to accept that her village’s waterborne illnesses were inevitable. With nothing more than corn cobs, sand, and charcoal she turned biology knowledge into a simple water filter—improving health in her community and showing that ingenuity can arise from even the humblest materials.
From Syria came Yusra Mardini, a teenage swimmer who, fleeing war, ended up navigating open waters for hours—literally pushing a sinking dinghy full of refugees to safety. Her later participation in the Refugee Olympic Team symbolized human strength and hope beyond borders.
And then there’s Param Jaggi, who, at age 16, developed a device using algae to convert car emissions into oxygen. True innovation, he showed, begins with asking “What if?” and acting on what you know.
These aren’t just stories: they are living examples of what H‑FARM believes in. They echo our mission: to empower students to transform innovation into human progress for a better society. We don’t just teach facts, we cultivate empathy, creative thinking, and ethical leadership.
H‑FARM’s educational model is built on immersive, hands-on learning that bridges disciplines and connects students with real-world problems. Whether restoring coral reefs in the Maldives or exploring AI in every subject as part of the new Human Plus Curriculum, students experience first-hand the power of knowledge turned into action.
This isn’t incidental. It stems from the H‑FARM approach: an ecosystem where teachers act as mentors, learning is co-created, and innovation is part of the daily rhythm. In our multicultural community of more than 700 students from 53 nationalities, the richness of different languages, cultures, and experiences isn’t just celebrated; it shapes who we become as global citizens.
Here, growth isn’t measured by competition. It’s about becoming a little better than you were yesterday, fueled by curiosity, kindness, and determination.
This academic year, as halls fill with voices and classrooms with ideas, our message is clear: We’re not just preparing students for the future; we’re empowering them to shape it.
