Pink October: when awareness is born at school
October has always been the month dedicated to breast cancer prevention: a time to shed light, share stories and build a network of support and information.
This year, however, a group of our students brought an extra touch of color by turning this occasion into a concrete project of solidarity and awareness.
It all began with a simple question: how can we make a difference, even in a small way?
Every year, our school invites students to take part in fundraising activities in support of organizations such as LILT – Italian League for the Fight against Cancer in Treviso. This time, though, Margherita, Agata, Nicole, Carlotta and Emanuela decided to go further: not only taking part, but organizing the activities themselves.

Sweet treats, smiles and small great action:
The goal was clear: to involve all age groups, because prevention also begins with education and awareness from childhood.
So, the girls organized face painting moments for children in kindergartens and primary schools, transforming solidarity into a moment of play and color, and a bake sale in middle and high schools, where every voluntary donation became a tangible gesture of support. Some additional activities could not take place due to weather conditions, yet the commitment and enthusiasm remained the true heart of the initiative.
At the end of the activities, the students raised € 388.08, a sum made of smiles, enthusiasm and participation, and donated directly to LILT Treviso, so it can become prevention, support and research.
A message that leaves a mark
The organizers had a strong intention: to speak to both children and adults about a topic that concerns all of us.
Breast cancer affects not only many women, but also men. This is why the true goal was not only to raise funds, but to build awareness, community, and support.
The girls shared how this experience changed them: they discovered how challenging it can be to organize an event, communicate effectively and collaborate, but also how powerful it is to see an act of solidarity turn into something real.
Stories like this remind us of something important
Prevention is not just a date on the calendar: it is a value that grows, is shared and learned.
And when students are the ones reminding us of it, it means we are building a more aware and courageous future together.
To all the students involved: thank you, for your commitment, your sensitivity, your example.
To everyone who took part: thank you for every contribution, big or small.
Let’s keep talking about it. Let’s keep supporting research. Let’s keep taking care of one another.
Because prevention is a form of love.
