SKY TROPHY 2026: a day on the slopes with our community

Some school events happen in classrooms. Others happen on a snowy slope in the Dolomites.

The H-Ski Trophy is one of those days that brings the H-FARM International School community somewhere different, but still very much together. This year, students, parents and staff once again met in San Martino di Castrozza for the annual ski race, turning a winter Saturday into a shared experience in the mountains.

From the early morning, there was already a lively atmosphere around the lifts. Skis leaning in the snow, people greeting each other, bibs being pinned onto jackets. Some participants were clearly focused on the race ahead, walking the course and discussing the turns. Others were simply enjoying the chance to spend a day outside with friends and family.

At the start gate, the mood changed slightly. There’s always that small pause before the push, a quick breath, a glance down the slope, maybe a last wave from someone standing nearby. Then the skis slide forward and the run begins.

One after another, skiers made their way down the course. Younger participants approached the race with excitement and a bit of nervous energy, while older students and parents took on the course with confidence and speed. Along the sides of the slope, voices called out names, friends cheered each other on, and every finish line arrival was met with applause.

Of course, there were times to beat and rankings to check. But that was never the whole story.

What people really remember from days like this are the moments around the race: the quick conversations while waiting for a turn, the laughter after a run, the feeling of being part of something shared.

Events like the H-Ski Trophy are a reminder that a school community is not only built in lessons and schedules. Sometimes it grows just as naturally on a mountain slope, with skis on and the Dolomites all around.

By the afternoon, the race had come to an end, but the day continued with more skiing, conversations, and the relaxed atmosphere that follows a good day outdoors.

In the end, the H-Ski Trophy isn’t only about who was fastest down the hill. It’s about spending time together, enjoying the mountains, and creating the kind of memories that stay long after the snow has melted. ❄️⛷️
