A programme designed for those who want to discover, innovate, and make a difference.

Named after Leonhard Euler, the programme is an academic enrichment pathway that runs alongside the TLF project, designed for students with a strong aptitude for Mathematics and Science.
Here you go beyond the standard MYP curriculum: deeper inquiry, mathematical proof, modelling and olympiad-level problems, with a clear destination in IB Diploma Higher Level Mathematics and the most competitive STEM university pathways.

Two maths courses, one pathway of excellence in 9 lessons

The Euler Programme is structured around two complementary maths strands running in parallel: 5 lessons of core Extended Mathematics and 4 lessons of Maths Enrichment. Advanced thinking, proof, modelling, competition preparation. Not two separate courses, but a single coherent experience.

Two years, two levels: Core and Enrichment

MYP4 — Extended Math

Core · 5 lessons/week
  1. Algebra and Number (radicals, indices, logarithms)
  2. Statistics and line of best fit
  3. Functions (linear, composite, inverse)
  4. Quadratics (modelling and optimisation)
  5. Trigonometry (right-angle, 3D applications)

MYP5 — Extended Math

Core · 5 lessons/week
  1. Functions and transformations
  2. Right-angle trigonometry
  3. Non-right-angle trigonometry (sine/cosine, unit circle)
  4. Probability (conditional, Bayesian thinking)
  5. Logarithmic, exponential and reciprocal functions
  6. Introduction to calculus

MYP4 Enrichment

Mathematical Toolkit Year · 4 lessons/week
  1. Logical reasoning and mathematical proofs (6–7 weeks)
  2. Number theory and algebraic structures (7–8 weeks)
  3. Advanced geometry and spatial visualisation (7 weeks)
  4. Vectors, matrices and mathematical modelling (7–8 weeks)
  5. Advanced mathematics for competitions (7 weeks)

MYP5 Enrichment

Mathematical Systems Year · 4 lessons/week
  1. Mathematical reasoning as a system (6–7 weeks)
  2. Mathematics of information and structure — cryptography (7 weeks)
  3. Mathematics of change and continuity (8 weeks)
  4. Mathematics of networks and interaction (8 weeks)
  5. Mathematics of modelling and decision-making (7 weeks)

Who can apply: admission criteria

The programme is open to MYP4 students (from 2026–27, also MYP5) who choose Extended Mathematics and commit to the four additional Enrichment periods, which are mandatory for Euler students. Admission requires:

  • a minimum final grade of 6 in MYP3 Mathematics
  • a minimum grade of 6 in Criterion A (Knowledge and Understanding), a mandatory requirement
  • consistently strong performance in the sciences

With a final grade of 5, admission is possible via entrance exam, provided the Criterion A requirement is met. Meeting only one subject area is not sufficient.

Why it matters: what it builds, where it leads

A coherent STEM enrichment pathway from MYP 4 to DP  2 that progressively builds advanced mathematical reasoning, interdisciplinary STEM thinking and the academic resilience required at IB Diploma Higher Level. Direct preparation for the Mathematics Olympiads (international reference resources: Art of Problem Solving, Evan Chen, Titu Andreescu) and for the most selective STEM university pathways in Europe, the US and Asia.
Academic performance, engagement and reflection are monitored across the two years, with particular attention to advanced mathematical reasoning, problem-solving ability and preparation for rigorous STEM pathways, including through interdisciplinary projects, internal assessments and participation in the Olympiads.
