DP2 Students Celebrate Their Last Day of Classes: A Bittersweet Goodbye Filled with Laughter, Memories, and New Beginnings

April 11 marked a meaningful milestone for our DP2 students — their last official day of school before heading into IB exam revision. A long-awaited moment, filled with excitement, nostalgia, and a healthy dose of mischief.

To celebrate the end of this two-year academic journey, students brought joy and color to the school with creative pranks, costumes, decorations, and “organized chaos” that turned the halls into a light-hearted farewell party. This annual tradition has become a rite of passage, blending humor and heart in the most memorable way.

Celebrating the last day of school with these pranks was a really special moment,” shared Ludovica, a DP2 student.

“We carved out time to be together and end our year in a fun and memorable way. For many of us, it wasn’t just the end of a school year—it was the end of our journey at H-FARM, which for me has lasted nearly four years. It was a beautiful way to disconnect for a moment, recharge, and get ready to focus for the final weeks before exams. I’m excited to see how future classes will keep this tradition alive.”

While the day was filled with laughter, it was also rich with reflection. As Sara Casagrande, Head of Diploma Programme, shared:

“The last day of class for DP2 students is always filled with emotions: smiles, hugs, a few hidden tears, and that bittersweet feeling that comes with every ending. After two years of challenges, hard work, and personal and academic growth, seeing them reach this milestone is incredibly rewarding.”

For teachers, it’s a moment to look back and witness the transformation—not just in academic skills, but in who the students have become as individuals.

This day held particular significance for Sahara, a boarding student who experienced the DP journey far from home:

“H-FARM has been a huge part of my educational journey. Living in the boarding, I’ve made lifelong connections, discovered new cultures, and gained new perspectives. At school, my teachers supported me with compassion, redirection, and guidance in both my academic and personal growth. Saying goodbye is hard—harder than I imagined—but saying thank you is a pleasure. On our last day (ever!!) in high school, we created a joyful and sincere moment to celebrate with our teachers, classmates, staff members, and friends.”

As DP Coordinator, Casagrande has walked every step of this journey with the students, and her parting message was both powerful and heartfelt:

“Believe in yourselves, even in moments of uncertainty. The IB journey has given you valuable tools, but what will truly make a difference is how you choose to use them. Keep being curious, courageous, and above all, kind—to yourselves and to others.”

Now begins the final stretch: a few intense weeks of revision and exam preparation, before the long-awaited Graduation Day. It’s a time for focus and determination, but also one of pride—for everything that has already been achieved.

And as the school community prepares to support these students through the final chapter of their IB journey, one thing is certain: this day of joy, pranks, and heartfelt goodbyes will stay with them for a long time.
