Teens in STEM – Scientific Labs

Here at H-FARM International School we have always firmly believed in the importance of supporting and encouraging young generations to pursue careers in STEM. All too often, talent and passion risk being held back by stereotypes or a lack of role models.

For this reason, we are organizing the 2nd edition of “Teens in STEM” , a free event designed to spark curiosity, fuel passion for scientific disciplines, and show girls that their place in the STEM world is not only possible but necessary.

The initiative will take place over two days:

– Friday, May 22, with a morning dedicated to an Inspirational talk, in which women working in the STEM sector will share their professional experience, achievements, and challenges faced along the way. Words have the power to inspire, and hearing authentic stories can make all the difference for a young girl who is trying to find her way. A story, an experience, a piece of advice can ignite that spark that makes her say, “I want to be like her too. I can do it too.” After the talk, 28 students (part of the H-elevate programme) will have the opportunity for a lunch conversation with our guests.

– Saturday, May 23, dedicated entirely to STEM workshops based on learning by doing, because we believe that first-hand experience is the best way to learn and develop a passion. It will be a day dedicated to 200 girls and boys aged between 10 and 14, coming mainly from local public schools and partly from H-FARM schools.
