Entrepreneurship and Startups: the new edition of the MYP4 Start-up Lab kicks off with guest speakers and dedicated workshops

By now, it’s no secret: at H-FARM International School, we don’t like to sit on the sidelines. Our MYP4 students know this well, having just kicked off this year’sStartup Lab by putting themselves to the test straight away.

The programme was launched by Lorenzo Bertoni, a student at H-FARM College and a member of the H-FARM Startup Center team. After a quick Q&A with the students on what a startup really is and what it takes to build one, it was time to move from theory to practice.

Working in groups, the students tackled the four steps behind every startup: choosing a sector undergoing significant change; identifying a real problem that people actively want to solve; defining precisely who is experiencing that problem; and coming up with a credible, achievable solution.

This is only the first step. As in previous editions, the Startup Lab will run throughout the year, with workshops, masterclasses and mentoring sessions alongsideindustry professionals and companies, helping students sharpen their strategic thinking, collaboration and ability to communicate with confidence. The journey willculminate in DEMO Night, when students will present their projects to a wide audience, stepping into the shoes of real entrepreneurs.

For us, an entrepreneurial mindset grows from the combination of innovation, courage and creativity. Above all, it isn’t something you can explain: it’s something you build, day by day.
