Mr David Coppard, Head of DP at the Vicenza Campus, on what the Diploma Programme really asks of students 

The Diploma Programme asks for more than study. Above all, it asks for curiosity: the kind that pushes a student to go further, to explore a subject out of genuine interest, to never settle. The new academic year opens with these words of encouragement from Mr David Coppard, Head of DP at the Vicenza Campus. 

“The start of a new academic year brings fresh opportunities, new challenges and the chance for every student to grow academically and personally. The Diploma Programme encourages students to become inquisitive, reflective and resilient learners, developing the knowledge, skills and international-mindedness needed for success at university and beyond. 

As we begin the 2026-27 school year, we do so from a position of strength. We are incredibly proud of last year’s Diploma Programme results, with our students achieving a 100% pass rate and an average score of 31.89 points, more than a full point above the global IB average. These outcomes reflect the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers as well as the invaluable support provided by our families. We thank our entire community for their contribution to this achievement and look forward to building on this success on the 2026-27 school year. 

Beyond academic achievement, we remain committed to providing a rich and balanced educational experience. Through opportunities provided by CAS, the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, as well as well as those on offer through our wider Nord Anglia collaborations, students will continue to develop as well-rounded individuals who are prepared to make a positive contribution to the world around them.” 

A diploma is not measured in points alone. It is measured in what students are able to do when they leave us: think for themselves, move confidently across cultures, and contribute to the world around them. That is what we will keep working on at H-FARM International School.
